Inside of the city of Vilnius there's another city, not even, a country : The Republic of Užupis – started some time back, enclosed by the river the district called in Lithuanian – The other side of the River was a sketchy place, a bit dangerous a bit abandoned – a perfect place for artists to nest. On 1st of April 1997 a republic was established, their own country within a country, with a government, ministry of foreign affairs and constitution. There even was an army constituting of 11 man, but due to political-ethical stand – was replaced with a guarding Angel of Uzupis erected in the main square. And  now THE CONSTITUTION ( which at the beginning we took for Lithuanian Consitution - and we fell in love with the country ;) Everyone has the right to live by the River Vilnelė, and the River Vilnelė has the right to flow by everyone. Everyone has the right to hot water, heating in winter and a tiled roof. Everyone has the right to die, but this is not an obligation. Everyone has the right to make mistakes. Everyone has the right to be unique. Everyone has the right to love. Everyone has the right not to be loved, but not necessarily. Everyone has the right to be undistinguished and unknown.
